WVHelp4Teens.org Site Developed by WV Coding Club members

WVHelp4Teens.org web app has been developed by WV Coding Club members for submission to the 2019 Congressional App Challenge. Here is a short video by them introducing the web app that they have researched, designed and created. We are very excited that this newly-created resource has been created to help their fellow West Virginia teens. They plan to do further research and add more features and resources to the web app over time.

WV Coding visits with Mayor and shares about their App for fellow WV Teens in Need

The West Virginia Coding Club Team for the Congressional App Challenge recently visited with Mayor Amy Goodwin and other local professionals, graciously hosted by Hendrickson & Long, PLLC on Capitol Street, Charleston, WV. Our team is developing an app as a place other teens can connect to when they are having challenges or want to try to help a friend. This will be an invaluable resource for WV teens, made by WV teens! The Mayor learned about their project and also what each student is wanting to pursue academically and for their careers in the future. (Far left to right, Mayor Amy Goodwin, to the right of the Mayor is Zack Mowrer, who is the youngest certified programmer in West Virginia, thanks to his hard work and support from the West Virginia Coding Club, then Zack’s Mom, Mariam and Chase).

Success Story

Trey and William, two of WVCC’s most productive students, have been selected by their school, Ripley Middle School, to be captains of the school’s newly formed robotics class. With their two year background in programming, their selection is no surprise to WVCC.

Way to go guys! So proud of you!!
