Former student reaches out to thank coding club staff for changing her life!

Mariam Kisto, a past member of our club, recently sent an update of what she’s been doing these last several years. With her permission, she offered the following: “This summer, I got an internship with an international company. I’m on their software development team and I’ve been working on their projects. I just wanted to thank you because if it wasn’t for the coding club to learn and grow my skills, I wouldn’t have even qualified for the internship. At the end of the internship, I want to create a post on LinkedIn about it and highlight the coding club in the post! Genuinely, you don’t understand the role you and the club have played in my life. I wouldn’t have made it as far as I have without your belief in me. I just want to give back and help more students learn like you allowed me!”

Mariam is entering her junior year at Penn State University. She is majoring in computer science and minoring in both (IST) information, science and technology and AI engineering.

Mariam attended George Washington High School and became the first female student in WV to earn an Advanced Tech Degree certification in (JavaScript)

Not only is Mariam a talented student but she is an awesome human being!! We wish her much success and happiness in the future.
